19th Annual Holiday Party
Gap held it’s annual party at Skateland in Northridge on December 9, 2007. We celebrated the year with over 140 families. Councilwoman Wendy Gruel joined us as did Santa.
We thank the many sponsors, including Councilman Grieg Smith, Albertson’s / Vons, Burke Williams, Target, Safeway, Jakkspacific Toy Company, The Happy Factory, Paul McKinney, Joe Hanrahan and so many more.

T-OFF FOR TYKES Miniature Golf Tournament 2007
Grandparents Day 2007 was a perfect reason to hold GAP’s first annual fundraiser at Castle Rock Park Miniature Golf course in Sherman Oaks, California. The weather was sunny with a nice breeze, the pizza was delicious and the ice cream snacks were refreshingly sticky. The 90 golfers – ages 5 months to 80+ years – needed about an hour and a half to play the 18-hole course and to get into some mischief. The 40-strong cheering section did its best to encourage everyone.
Competition was stiff as some players purchased ‘advantage items’ such as water guns, and bricks. Determined golfers squirted their opponents with the water pistols. One player put a brick over the hole her opponent was aiming at. Some very creative score-keeping took place but after the trophies were presented, everyone went home happy.
In addition to the fundraising entry fees, there was a raffle and a silent auction that helped generate additional monies to support GAP’s valuable programs and services.
Be ready for next year – September 7, 2008 is Grandparent’s Day and a new champion will emerge!
